Valorization of Waste and Bioenergy

The SOMARES Institute structures solutions for circular economy and waste valorization focused on reducing environmental liabilities and sustainably utilizing materials that are currently destined for landfills and other disposal systems.

The initiative works specifically with the organic fraction of municipal solid waste, agri-food waste, and sludge from treatment plants, evaluating alternatives for its transformation into... energy, biogas or biomethane, CO₂ and stabilized fertilizers.

The model integrates waste diagnosis, technical sizing, licensing, financial structuring, implementation, and operational monitoring, allowing for the development of solutions tailored to the characteristics of each municipality or territory.

In addition to environmental benefits, the proposal seeks to generate local value, reduce disposal costs, support agricultural production, and create opportunities for integration with cooperatives, family farming, and sustainable production chains.
